Alderley Analytical is fast growing Contract Research Organisation (CRO) based at the prestigious Alderley Park in the heart of Cheshire.  We provide specialist bioanalytical services to support our clients with their discovery and regulatory drug development programmes.  We provide services to support our clients with their small & large molecule, peptide and biomarker projects.

Our facility has a wealth of state-of-the-art LC-MS/MS instruments complimented by many other analytical technologies.

Due to the ongoing success of Alderley Analytical, we are looking for another Team Leader to join our Client Delivery Group. As a Team Leader in the Client Delivery Group, you will be responsible for a team of dedicated Project Leaders working within a GLP/GCP facility. The Team Leader role is a line management position, as well as monitoring compliance and client deliveries.  The role will also include ongoing development and performance management of the team, as required.

This role will suit an established Team Leader, or regulatory Project leader looking for career progression into a line management position.

  • Work closely with the Associate Director of Projects to understand client deadlines for assigned projects and the scheduling requirements associated with such deadlines
  • Input into the financial projections for the Project Leader Group
  • Work with the Associate Director of Projects to maintain, monitor and review appropriate KPI’s to ensure high quality, on time delivery, and profitability are delivered
  • Work with the Associate Director of Projects to maintain, monitor and review appropriate KPI’s to ensure high levels of effective customer communication, customer satisfaction and repeat business are delivered
  • Act as a deputy for the Associate Director of Projects when required to do so
  • Work closely with the Business Development Team to help sell our services, including participating in client visits, quote review and obtaining customer feedback where required
  • Liaise closely with the Method Development Team to ensure that analytical methods meet the required standards
  • Liaise closely with the Associate Director of Operations to ensure projects are scheduled correctly both from an instrumentation and staffing perspective
  • Liaise closely with the QA department to ensure projects are scheduled effectively for the appropriate audits
  • Facilitate the QA department with both regulatory and client audits


  • Line management of a team of Project Leaders, including training, mentoring and development.
  • Perform appraisals and set performance targets for the Project Leader Team in conjunction with the Associate Director of Projects
  • Drive the Project Leader Team to deliver their monthly financial targets


  • Ensure that projects assigned to your team are delivered on time, within budget and meet or exceed customer requirements
  • Ensure that projects assigned to your team meet regulatory requirements and are of a high quality
  • Perform technical reviews of plans, results, and reports prior to sharing with the clients
  • Provide technical input into reports
  • Authorisation and maintenance of GLP/GCP required documentation
  • Act as a Project Leader/Principal Investigator/Study Director as required


  • Continuous improvement of processes within the Project Leader group
  • Author and review Standard Operating Procedures


  • More than 5 years’ experience working in a regulatory bioanalysis laboratory
  • A PhD or degree in life sciences or chemistry related subject, or a minimum 10 years’ relevant industry experience
  • A good communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience of working within a fast-paced GLP/GCP facility
  • Experience of leading both GLP and GCP bioanalytical projects
  • Strong Project Management background


  • Good computer literacy and competent in Microsoft office applications Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • Hands on experience of using LC-MS/MS, Sciex and Waters LC-MS/MS systems an advantage
  • Knowledge of scientific software platforms such as Analyst, MassLynx, UNIFI, WATSON and SoftMax Pro an advantage
  • Detailed knowledge of GLP and GCP applicable to the bioanalytical environment
  • Experience of bioanalytical method development and troubleshooting
  • Experience of validating methods to FDA/EMA guidelines
  • Experience in a wide range of Clinical Protocol Designs
  • Experience of reviewing regulatory data
  • An understanding of Large Molecule analysis and non-LC-MS/MS techniques an advantage
